NOTD: Missguided 'Misslead'

August's issue of Cosmopolitan magazine came with a choice of three Missguided Nail Splash nail polishes, worth £5.95 each; after a couple of weeks of resistance, I eventually caved and picked up 'Misslead'.

In the bottle, this looks like a bright sunshine yellow with a slight shimmer. On the nails, it's a bright sunshine yellow absolutely packed to the brim with shimmer.

In the past, I've always avoided yellow nail polish, assuming it'd have the same effect as yellow clothing in making me look a bit grey and dead. However, the warm tones in this polish and the lovely multi-coloured shimmer mean it's actually very wearable. It does take some building to achieve opacity, but it applies beautifully, dries quickly, and is surprisingly smooth for the amount of shimmer, so that's not too much of an issue for me. The photos below show four coats plus top coat, the first in natural light and the others indoors without flash. This is what it would look like if you froze sunshine!

This is the closest to the true colour

Did you pick up any of the Missguided nail polishes? Is there a shade you tend to avoid?

(This item was received free when purchasing a magazine. This does not affect my review in any way, as always my thoughts are 100% honest.)
