Review | Urban Therapy Twisted Sista Blow Drying Creme

I received this product in the goodie bag that Lizzie very kindly put together for the ladies who attended the Beauty Bloggers' Afternoon Tea at Meadowhall a couple of months ago. On first impressions, this is like a flashback to being 13; the packaging really reminds me of the early 00s for some reason. This isn't enough to put me off, however, when the products claims to, "Relax, unwind, smooth, and moisturise" - all things my hair is in desperate need of.
"Our stylists at Urban Therapy love it, our clients call it magic. If you want straight hair this is all you need. The blow drying creme gives your hair new structure and shape, controlling and straightening as it calms and relaxes your hair. Squeeze a small amount into the palm of your hands, rub together and run fingers through hair from root to tip and blow-dry as normal."

Squeezed from the tube, this is a relatively thick, clear jelly-like product, rather than the translucent "creme" I was expecting. It has a lovely, fruity scent, although some may find this a little over-powering; it doesn't linger on the hair once dried, though, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. The amount shown below is perfect for my thick, long hair. I rub it between my palms and then run my hands through my hair, first from mid-lengths to tips to remove the bulk of the product and then from roots to tips. I then blow-dry as normal. I find that my hair dries much more quickly when using this product, which is a definite bonus; without it, I can spend up to 45 minutes drying my hair, so saving 20 minutes is not to be sniffed at.

Here you can see my hair blow-dried but not straightened. Given that my hair is quite thick and wavy, this is remarkably well-controlled when you consider all I've done is blowdry it and brush it through! My hair rarely looks better than this when I get a blow-dry at the hairdressers without them straightening it, not bad for a product which costs less than £3! The Blow Drying Creme's excellent performance, coupled with the time it saves me, were my main motivation for including it in my Current Favourites post!

Twisted Sista Blow Drying Creme is available from Amazon priced at £2.29 for 100ml, and I've seen it in BodyCare for a similar price. I've also heard of it being available in Asda, Poundland, and Savers, so keep an eye out and you could pick up a bargain!
Have you tried any Twisted Sista products? What do you use when blow-drying your hair, or do you just let it do its own thing?
