If you've been keeping up with me on Twitter lately, you might know that my boyfriend and I have been house-hunting. We've finally found a house we both like and can afford, so we've applied - all being well, it will be ours (well, to rent!) within the next couple of weeks. Then comes to problem of furnishing it and making it feel like home. I'm going to be doing a few interiors posts of the coming weeks, and this is the first. Mostly I'll be sharing items and ideas that are within our budget, but this is a more indulgent "If money was no object" product.
Fatboy, stocked by
Amara, are a Scandinavian brand who produce a range of home products, from outdoor lamps to beautiful pet beds. I've fallen in love with
this beanbag, £219. That's several times more than I can afford to spend at the moment, but my God it's gorgeous and would be perfect to brighten up a neutral living room.
What do you think? Where is your favourite place to shop for homewares?

(This post is my entry into a competition currently being held by Amara to win a Fatboy product.)
I've been decorating my rooms, since I'm studying for uni at home this year. I love ikea, but I really wanted something girly, original and I know is my own. So i've been buying ribbons, material and lace to make a canopy over my bed. Stuck some hooks onto the side of my wardrobe and tied ribbon to each side to hand my scarfs.
ReplyDeleteI've made some jewellery organisers which are really easy to make! Have a look...

The canopy idea sounds lovely! I'll definitely check out your jewellery organisers DIY too, thanks for sharing :) xo
DeleteYaaaaay I'mso happy for you and your boyfriend :D movingback home is driving me crazy at the minute but I have to admit I'm saving thousands and thousands in the process. Still, I can't help but check out the property section of the evening standard on my commute!
ReplyDeleteAs for homewares, I love not on the high street. Again a little pricey, but it has some really unique pieces! I also love anything Laura Ashley, and as I'm not fussy about having "this seasons" interiors, I make the most of ebay! I've recently done my room up on the cheap (mainly via ebay) I will have to send you a pic :)
I know the feeling, living with my parents is driving me slowly insane! Can't wait to move :) Oh I'd forgotten about Not On The High Street, thank you! I'd love to see pics of your room :) xo
