NOTD: Basil Street

First of all, let me say SORRY for my extended absence; as I’ve mentioned, I moved house recently and it’s taking much longer than I expected to get the Internet connected in my new house. I have a connection date of December 12th so you can look forward to plenty of shiny new posts then. I have so much planned! Until then, I’m using this unexpected temporary hiatus to concentrate on my Masters work and, of course, getting my house straightened out and getting used to living with a boy.
I’ve been using the Internet in the local library for my Uni work but that’s limited to two hours per day, so I’ve not wanted to use precious study minutes on blogging. However, I have made an exception to share with you these amazing nail stickers from JanChristie Designer Nail Art; the lovely Mandie asked if I’d try out these super cute Christmas Rottweilers*, and how could I say no!? You may have seen my post on my own Rottie, Tyler, and you’ve certainly seen plenty of him if you follow me on Instagram (@JesssRawr), so I just couldn’t resist.
These super-cool nail stickers show up best over pale base colours, so I started with two coats of Nails Inc’s ‘Basil Street’ (see the first photo below) before adding the stickers, and finishing off with a top coat. Mandie and Christine recommend that adding another coat of top coat every day or two helps prolong the life of the stickers. Don’t they look awesome!? I’d like to say now, the instructions recommend waiting until your base is totally dry before applying the stickers – I tried my best but I’m impatient and excitable and just couldn’t wait any longer. I think that’s why there’s a little bit of bubbling to a couple of the stickers; the nails that were properly dry worked fine (see my little finger), but the others puckered slightly. So let that be a tip to you – follow the instructions! These photos didn't turn out as well as I hoped in any case, but each set of stickers contains a generous 24 so I'll definitely be having another go and will update the images when I do.

JanChristie are generously running an offer for my lovely readers – add “Just Jesss” to the comments box on your order from JanChristie.com when buying four sets of nail stickers, and a fifth set will be added to your order for free – this is valid until the end of January, so you have plenty of time to choose from the hundreds of designs available, but get your orders in soon if you’d like something from their extensive Christmas range! I’ve previously shared the Orchid Sprays from their permanent range, but you can choose from a huge number of pets, flowers and seasonal designs.

(These nail stickers were provided to me in exchange for a post and review; as always, my opinions are honest)
