Happy 2013, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed bringing in the New Year and have, by now, recovered from your hangovers. I actually had a quiet night in with my boyfriend and his son (and his daughters, but they were asleep!), watching terrible films, and went to bed at about 12.30 after watching the fireworks from the window, so no hangovers in this house! How did you celebrate?
I know, another NOTD post - sorry! I'm currently snowed under with assignment deadlines at Uni so I'm struggling to find time to write some of the posts I have planned. Having loved the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine polishes I picked up when the collection first came out (I blogged about 'Prickly Pear' and loved 'Blackberry' just as much), I ended up adding to my stash with 'Blueberry', which is a bright pastel blue. I didn't find the formula of this one quite as good as my other two Gellies, it was ever so slightly too thick to work with easily. Nonetheless, two coats were all I needed for opaque coverage and a gorgeous high-shine finish. It's a lovely muted yet bright blue colour, and one I'll be wearing on my toes come next summer!
I added an accent to my ring finger and thumb nails, using the limited edition glitter polish Barry M released in Superdrug for Christmas 2012 - you can see the other Superdrug LE polish in my Winter Nail Art post! This is a clear base with small red, silver and blue hex glitter, and tiny holo glitter particles - the glitter isn't very dense though, so it's definitely one to use as a top coat rather than a standalone polish. These photos aren't quite true to the colour of this polish, I couldn't get the lighting right - it's actually slightly warmer in tone than it looks here, leaning ever so slightly more purple.
Which is your favourite from the Gelly Hi-Shine collection? Did you get any of Barry M's Christmas Limited Editions from either Superdrug or Boots, where your choices were a gold and a pink foil?
