Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm 'Elusive'

I recently was drawn in by a 'Buy One, Get One Half Price' offer on Revlon make-up in Superdrug, which ended with me leaving with a new foundation as well as the Colorburst Matte Balm in shade 205 'Elusive'. I was tempted by the hot pink shade but in the end decided to go for something I knew I'd get plenty of wear from; 'Elusive' is a perfect everyday shade, very much a 'my lips but better' type of look. I really like the matte packaging, which somehow feels a little more high-end than the tubes of the original Balm Stains. The shade name is shown on the base of the product, which twists to move the crayon up - easy peasy!

Below, I've paired a nude lip using 'Elusive', with a slightly more dramatic eye make-up look using the Sleek Showstoppers Palette; I think they offset each other perfectly. In the summer months, I think 'Elusive' would look equally lovely with a very minimal eye, maybe just a touch of mascara and liner, for a simple and relaxed look.

I found 'Elusive' to apply nicely to the lips, feeling smooth and moisturising rather than drying as can be the case with some matte lip products. However, I did find that it had a tendency to cling to any dry patches on the lips, so it's definitely worth using a lip scrub and/or a good lip balm prior to application! Once on the lips, 'Elusive' lasted fairly well for a balm product; around three hours for me, though this is reduced by eating and drinking. I should also point out that the Matte Balms have a minty scent which I know some people dislike; personally, I really like it!

'Elusive' is available from Superdrug, priced at £5.99 for 2.7g of product (or currently two for £10), which I think is a reasonable price for the quality and longevity of the colour. The Matte Balms are currently available in ten shades; have you tried any of Revlon's Colorburst Matte Balms? Which is your favourite shade? I'm still sorely tempted by 'Showy'!
