I was recently very kindly sent another package of products to try from Born Pretty Store; one of the items I chose was the intriguingly-named "Magic Glow Ball Powder"* in Shade #3. There's very little detail about the product on Born Pretty's website, but basically was anticipating a highlighter in a pearl format... which is pretty much what I got!

Presented in a screw-cap plastic jar which comes complete with mirror in the lid (always handy!) and a little powder puff, I think the Magic Glow Balls look higher-end than they are. The information on the bottom of the jar is a dubious translation and doesn't really tell you much other than the shade you've got and that there's 25g of product. Shade #3 contains a combination of white, lilac, mint and peach pearls, which are packaged between two layers of foam to keep them safe.

I've found that the powder puff provided is pretty much useless for picking up any pigment from the pearls; I've been using my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush instead, I think you need quite a firm brush with dense fibres to get much payoff. The effect once brushed onto the skin is a very subtle brightening; you'd really struggle to go over-board and end up looking like a disco ball with these! I tend to just brush gently down my nose, across the tops of my cheekbones and on my browbones to highlight my face, which is what I've done in the photo below - it's difficult to see, but it does give a nice, subtle brightening effect with is perfect for day-to-day wear.

These are great on a day when I want a subtle brightening effect without much visible shimmer; the jar also looks really pretty on my dresser! Monplay Corrector Magic Glow Ball Powder is available from Born Pretty Store
here, priced at £5.01; remember you can get 10% off store-wide with my discount code 'JESSMK31'!
Have you tried Monplay Corrector Magic Glow Ball Powder, or any similar products? What's your highlighter of choice?
