Three Ways | Makeup Revolution BEYOND FLAWLESS Palette

You may have seen my recent Beauty Haul post, in which I picked up Makeup Revolution's Beyond Flawless palette; I promised a post on that would be forthcoming, and here it is! I tend to prefer to share the ways I use a palette rather than just sharing swatches which can be found anywhere, so today I've got three looks I've created using shadows from the Beyond Flawless palette. First up, though, a few thoughts on the palette.

The packaging is, to me, higher end than the price-tag; at just £8, this palette is super-affordable, and yet it comes encased in lovely shiny gold cardboard, the back of which shows you the shades you're getting. Within the box, the palette itself is Makeup Revolution's classic black plastic with gold detailing - again, it's lovely, though it doesn't half attract fingerprints! The palette contains a full-sized mirror for easy application, and doesn't waste any space with a useless foam applicator that no-one will use.

The shadows are a little smaller than I anticipated, but for this price (25p per shadow) I can't complain! Shade names are printed on a clear plastic overlay which helps to keep the mirror clean; I love that the shades have names! I've swatched a few of my favourites below just to give you an idea of the range of shades and the pigmentation. Left to right we have 'Sand Dune', 'Spice', 'Bistre', 'Stone Grey', and 'Cookie Dough'. The shimmer shades are spot-on in terms of pigmentation, whilst the matte shades are 'not bad' - they're not the best I've ever used, but for a palette in this price bracket they're more than acceptable!

For my first look, I used 'Sand Dune' all over the lid, with 'Light Caramel' on the inner third and 'Muddy' in the outer third. I then used 'Cookie Dough' in the crease and the lower lashline, and added an inner corner highlight of 'Bare Pink'. This is quite a natural look, it's maybe one to pair with a statement lip for a night out or big event!

My second look used 'Brunette' all over the lid, with 'Papaya' to brighten the inner third and 'Bistre' in the outer third and on the lower lashline. I think this is my favourite of the three as it's a bit smoky and mysterious without being over-the-top; I really like 'Bistre' for this!

The final look features 'Pug' (what a great shade name!) all over, with 'Wholemeal' in the outer third and 'Sepia' in the crease and along the lower lashline. This is a lovely day-to-day look that you can throw on in just a couple of minutes to add a little definition to your eyes whilst still being really wearable and office-appropriate.

As far as my thoughts on the palette as a whole go, I think it's a great buy - there's a brilliant range of nude shades that can be put together to create almost any look you can imagine; there are also quite a few which look stunning worn alone, like 'Immaculate' and 'Toasty'. The shadows blend easily and last well on me, even without a primer; there's a little creasing after a ten-hour day but nothing major. Makeup Revolution Beyond Flawless palette is priced at £8 for 32 shades and is available from Superdrug here, or direct from Makeup Revolution here. I'd just like to point out that I've never ordered from Superdrug online and have heard a lot of negative stories, so I'd recommend ordering from Makeup Revolution directly if you wish to purchase online - I've never had a problem with them! Have you tried any of Makeup Revolution's Flawless palettes? Which is your favourite of my three looks?

  2. I order from Superdrug online all the time and collect my order at my local store (which is small and doesn't have many of the things I need a lot of the time). I've never had a problem at all! Em x

  4. I have still to try Makeup Revolution - surprising I know! I love your final look, with the 'Pug' shade. It looks so warm and looks beautiful on you. Btw great idea to do 'looks' rather than just straight swatches. Def adds more interest for the reader! :) Tx
