Review | Burt's Bees Lip Crayon

One of the products I chose for my Latest In Beauty #LIBAwards Box was this Burt's Bees Lip Crayon in 'Hawaiian Smoulder', which sounds like a gorgeously summery shade, doesn't it?! I love lip crayons as I find them so easy to use and comfortable to wear; I'm prepared to compromise a bit on the pigmentation for the low-maintenance aspect. I love that you can basically swipe on and go, and it's easy to touch up on the go as well if you so wish; there's no faffing around with lip scrubs and balms, since lip crayons are generally hydrating enough to skip the balm, and forgiving enough that scrubs aren't necessary.

Burt's Bees Lip Crayon 'Hawaiian Smoulder' Swatches & Review
The Burt's Bees Lip Crayons come in a brown twist-up plastic casing which has two bands representing the colour of the product; the clear snap-on lid has a honeycomb design which I think is just a lovely touch! As you can see in my swatches above, one swipe gives a pretty wash of colour, whilst you can also build the product up for a slightly more intense colour pay-off. 'Hawaiian Smoulder' is a medium pinky-red which I think would suit most skin-tones; it looks quite natural on me and is perfect for day-to-day wear for a polished look without being overdone. It's probably not one for dramatic night-out make-up, but then that's not what it's designed for and I wouldn't expect it from a lip crayon, so that's fine!!

In terms of lasting power, I'd say it's pretty average for this type of product; within a couple of hours the colour starts to fade, although it does so evenly, leaving a stain behind. Touching up is optional as the stain is enough to still look nice, in my opinion; that's obviously down to personal preference. I haven't found this lip crayon to leave my lips feeling dry or rough, rather, it hydrates them quite nicely - thanks to the Shea Butter, Kendi Oil and Jojoba Oil boasted by the ingredients list. Burt's Bees Lip Crayons are priced at £6.99 for 3.11g of product, available in six shades direct from Burt's Bees here; this has definitely left me wanting to try more of their products! Have you tried Burt's Bees Lip Crayons? What are your favourite Burt's products?
