Hello March!

Let's not make too much fuss about the fact that we're into March already; instead, I'm trying to focus on goals! Having a few weeks off work (hello, annual leave needing to be used up by the end of the tax year!) means I'm feeling like I'm achieving loads - I wrote myself a big list of things I want to get done while I'm off and I'm steadily ploughing through it, ticking things off. Is there a more satisfying feeling than ticking things off a to-do list? I think not.
Hello March
I also set myself some goals for February at the start of the month, which you can read about in more detail here; today, let's have a look at how I've got on!
• Bake something: Well, for better or for worse, I decided on a bit of a whim to give up chocolate for Lent, so that narrowed my options considerably when it came to things to bake - at least if I wanted to eat them afterwards which, let's be honest, I do. I did make a Bakewell Tart but I have to be honest, it wasn't particularly successful, which I was sad about. Maybe I'll give it another go sometime!

• Walk somewhere new: I took myself up to Grasmere and had a lovely little wander at the start of the month; it was so nice to have some time by myself to just potter about, take in the gorgeous scenery, visit Wordsworth's grave, and - of course - treat myself to some Grasmere Gingerbread. If you're in the vicinity, it's a must!

• See friends at least twice: Well I visited my Uni housemates in Sheffield, went for a very cold and muddy night-time walk with my friend Matt, had a dinner party with friends from Warrior, and visited another friend up in Keswick. I also had a Valentine's weekend with friends including seeing a friend singing in the pub, a bit of a night out, and a Valentine's Day Carvery Man Date with my friends Will and James. So I think this one was fairly comprehensively ticked off! It's much easier to see friends when you're not at work all the time, apparently...
• Neaten up my blog: Admittedly this is still a work in progress, but I do feel like I've neatened things up a little, including my About page (have a peek and let me know what you think! I'm not finished with it...) - I've got a couple of things I'd still like to get sorted out while I'm off work, though...

And that brings us round to goals for March... I'm off work until the 15th so I should have plenty of time on my hands for achieving these! Some of them are obvious repeats of last month's (well, if I enjoyed them, why not!?) alongside a couple of new ideas to keep things fresh and fun:
Bake something. Hopefully something more successful than last month's sorry attempt at Bakewell Tart... If I wait til the end of the month, I could include chocolate. But I'll be back at work by then, so who knows!?
See friends at least twice. Again, keeping up with my friends is important to me and I like making sure I take the time to stay in touch! I've really got no excuse, being off work and all, so I'd like to do something fun with friends on at least two occasions. I'm actually in Leeds seeing friends at the moment, so I'm off to a good start here!
Walk somewhere new. Another one that sounds strangely familiar... I really enjoyed getting out and exploring somewhere new on my own last month, so I'd like to make the effort to do it again this month. If I can go via Grasmere and get more gingerbread, then so much the better!
• Keep working on my fitness. My gym membership is one of my favourite expenses (is that even a thing!?), I love going! Now the weather's improving a little, I've been enjoying being able to get out and about a bit more too - I even managed to get out on my bike in February! I'd like to try to keep as active as possible in March and hopefully get out cycling at least a couple more times.
Finish the month at least £100 from the bottom of my overdraft. I'm not sure if I'll manage this or not, to be honest, but I do need to make an effort to start clearing the ol' overdraft, and this seems like a manageable target to make a start on that!

Did you achieve your goals in February? What have you got planned for March?
