Forever Living For Eczema*

Following on from my post on Forever Living's Aloe Bath Gelée a few days ago, I'm back to share a couple of products which I've been using to treat the patches of eczema which I get inside my elbows. This is always the first place I get a flare-up if I've used something I shouldn't (like a shampoo or shower gel with SLS in!) but even when I've been good, these areas are often still a little sensitive and quite dry, so I was keen to see what Forever Living had to offer me. In the past I've used prescription emollients and steroid creams, neither of which have been particularly effective for me; the emollients I was prescribed were largely petroleum-based, which my skin hates, whilst steroids such as Hydrocortisone only worked for a short time.
Forever Living For Eczema
The Forever Living rep I've been working with, James, suggested using a combination of two of their products on affected areas; starting with clean skin, I've been rubbing in some of their Aloe Vera Gelly* (£12.73/118ml), which claims to moisturise, soothe and condition the skin. The gelly has quite a wet texture and takes a couple of minutes to fully absorb, which I was warned about; however, you do only need a tiny amount of this as it spreads across the skin really easily. I was using far too much at first (and wondering why it was taking ages to absorb...), but around a pea-sized amount is enough for each arm.
Forever Living Aloe Vera Gelly & Aloe Propolis Creme
Once the Aloe Vera Gelly has sunk in nicely, I apply a similarly tiny amount of the Aloe Propolis Creme* (£15.56/113g), which I'm just going to say now smells absolutely gorgeous! This claims to help maintain a beautiful skin tone and texture... Which I'm not too bothered about for my elbows! I am interested in the nourishment it offers, though, as well as containing Vitamins A and E, and Chamomile which is known for its soothing properties. The Aloe Propolis Creme sinks into the skin really quickly, without leaving behind any stickiness or greasy feeling.
I'll be honest and admit that I haven't been using this combo twice a day as was suggested; I'm lazy and forgetful, and often when I come in from work I just want to sleep. Enough of the excuses though - even using this combination maybe once every other day, I've noticed a real improvement in the patches of eczema inside my elbows. The skin is less dry and sensitive, and feels smoother to the touch. I'm really impressed by the difference it's made in the space of around three weeks, and will definitely be continuing to use these products. You can find these and more on the Forever Living site here.
Have you ever tried Forever Living products? If you suffer from eczema, what are the best products you've used to treat it?

    2. Hi Natalie. The gelly on its own would be really good on acne. If you would like some, please let me know.

  10. I've trialed Forever Living Products and they are good, but I think they are just so overpriced.

    1. I don't know Emma - I agree that they're quite expensive but honestly, I'm using a pea-sized amount each time so the tubes will last for ages! Plus if you've ever suffered from eczema you'll know you can't put a price on finding something that stops you waking yourself up in the night, having scratched your skin until you bleed. xo

  12. I had Eczema many years ago and Lush Dream cream cured it for me and it has never come back. I only had a small patch on the back of one leg, oddly x

  13. I had Eczema when I was younger but as I've grown older I very rarely get it now (touch wood). I get the odd flair up with my hayfaver allergies but as long as I stay moisturised it's all good :) The Aloe in these products sound so soothing and it's great that you saw an improvement. I was in Lush one day and I was recommended their 'Dream Cream' - it soothes, calms and hydrates which makes the skin feel incredible. There is oats in the formula which have so many amazing properties for the skin - definitely recommend it :)
