Ten Thoughts You Have at 3 a.m.

Generally speaking I'm a bit of an early bird when it comes to bedtime - I value my sleep (read: I'm useless without it!) and tend to be tucked up in bed well before midnight. Recently, though, I've slipped into the terrible habit of turning my laptop back on when I get in from work at 10 p.m., which has led to hours upon hours mysteriously disappearing... Here are ten things I'm sure we've all found ourselves thinking at 3 a.m.:

  1. I'm sure it was only 11 p.m. last time I looked at the clock, like, half an hour ago?!
  2. I was meant to be having an early night...
  3. My alarm is going off in *counts* four hours. How am I going to function!?
  4. Why is my brain full of ideas and motivation instead of sleepiness?
  5. I'm hungry. I wonder if there are any chicken nuggets in the freezer...
  6. Did I remember to submit my mileage claim at work / feed the goldfish / lock the doors / insert other important thing here?
  7. I'll just finish writing this blog post... 
  8. ...and edit this last photo...
  9. ...and comment on these couple of posts in my Bloglovin' feed.
  10. Okay let's just look at Analytics. Maybe someone's looking at my blog right now. Oh. Okay. They're not.

  1. HA! This reminds me a bit of me! If I end up waking up in the middle of the night, it's normally some really mundane or shallow thought that will end up keeping me awake for hours. xx

  5. I do this so often, it drives me insane. Then my final thought is always why am I still awake? and then I just can't stop thinking about it and it keeps me awake even more arrgghh

  6. I totally count hours until I have to wake up too! and I'm usually in bed by 9 pm... oh and chicken nuggets are always a go-to, unless I'm craving cookie dough. Oh brother. I always wonder why the hours of 2-4am are my most creative and productive.. but I'm glad I'm not the only one! haha thanks for sharing xX love this post!

  10. I hate those nights when I wake up and boom, my mind goes off on a rampage and can't stop working. Lying awake for hours and then falling asleep an hour before you have to get up. Hate it.

  14. I'm an early riser and early to bed, I get headaches otherwise - Womp! LOL now this is me on a rare late night as it slips me by, the time escapes me and then I'm hungry before bed. xo

  16. Love this post. So SO true.
    For the past few weeks i've been falling asleep around this sort of time, and I ALWAYS say to myself. "I'm so tired, I was supposed to have an early night!" But I never do.
    Stupid. Haha.
    Also, I always think..oh just one more cup of tea. Just one more.
    Then I can't go to sleep until i've drank it..Then I want another..

    Your 3AM is my 11PM, I seem to think of all the bad stuff at that time or the fact that I'm single & its unlikely that I'll meet anyone soon haha.
