Hello April!

Well here we are in April - already past a quarter of the way through 2017, which I'm trying not to think about too much! April is the first proper month of Spring and I always feel like it holds a lot of promise, somehow - the days are getting lighter, the sun is putting in more of an appearance (hopefully!), the flowers are out and the whole world feels happier. I love it! As always, I like to set myself some goals each month to keep me on track, so here's what I'm hoping to achieve in April.
Hello April!
Read at least two books. I failed miserably at my one book for the month in March, so I've got March's book to finish, and then another one to read to get back on track with my goal of 12 books in 2017! I've almost finished The Outrun by Amy Liptrot, and I'll have to pick something quick & easy for the second one, I think...
See friends at least twice. I always find this a nice goal to include - it can be far too tempting, after a long day at work, to just come home and hide in my bed - I need a bit of motivation to make more effort to see people!
Interview prep. Having surprised myself by actually getting an interview for a Clinical Psychology course, I now need to start preparing for it! It's not til May so I've got plenty of time but still, I'd like to get thinking about how I'm going to answer some of the questions. Thankfully the interview process doesn't sound toooo brutal so hopefully it'll be a pleasant experience, whatever the outcome.
Get out on my bike. I've really got back into cycling lately (just for fun, I won't pretend I'm good at it!) and now the evenings are getting lighter, there's a good hour or so when I get home from work of a night when I could get out for a quick ride - so I'm hoping to do that at least once a week.
No chocolate or sweet treats til Easter. I've been doing really well with this so far and have almost stopped being tempted! Easter is only a couple of weeks ago now so I'm aiming to keep strong til then so I can really enjoy an Easter egg. I'm actually planning to carry on being quite strict after Easter, as I have a ridiculous sweet tooth and it's really not good for me. I'm thinking I'll allow myself one sweet treat a week?
April Goals
I don't think I've got anything exciting planned for April just yet - I've got an appointment to give blood mid-month and I'm looking forward to a few days off over the Bank Holiday weekend, but that's about it! Have you got anything nice planned for April? I'd love to hear what your goals are! Here's hoping we don't get too many April Showers...

  1. I'm loving that we have more daylight now, and that the sun is showing itself. Bliss.
But, yeah, April has come a little too quickly and I'm a little behind on things I need to be doing. I'm needing to do more in the house (currently working my way through), and organise myself better, along with the usual things like seeing family more and hopefully getting out more. With the warmer weather, we've already enjoyed some walks on the beach, which has been fab (although my 5 year old filled my bag with stones).

Good luck with the interview (even though it is next month), sounds like a fab opportunity.

  4. Good luck with your clin psych interview :)
Also, I keep telling myself to read more, then when I picked up a book last week I couldn't put it down and finished in 2 days. Do you have some good ones lined up to read?

  7. Glad giving up chocolate is going well. I ate some of my boyfriends crisps by accident and didn't even realise until he asked me the other day if I want a pack seeing as I was eating his ffs!!! How did I do that! I haven't got anything planned for April, I feel like March has been a busy month for me though. xx

  8. Good work on the chocolate! While I am not going to be getting out biking anytime soon, I have set a similar goal but walking instead... I do walk now occasionally as I have dogs that need to, but I want to get out more often now that the weather is screaming for it!

  9. I'm ashamed to say I haven't read any books this year so far....I have to change that! I'd also love to see my friends more this month as well, I think I need to plan in advance and just schedule some time to see them in my calendar or something so that I can't forget.

  11. I love setting little goals! I want to start reading more as well, but it's so hard when I'm this busy, and when the weather outside is becoming this sunny!

  13. Hope you've been finding the goal-keeping not too tough! Chocolate is a nightmare to stay away from, if you ask me!
